The 5 Animals of Kung Fu

 Kung Fu five forms, or the 5 animals, are some of the deadliest forms of martial arts and studied all over the world. While the 5 animals are the most powerful, it is important to note that Kung Fu also has other specific fist styles. These five styles are patterned after the animal for which they are named.

The Dragon Claw Many Chinese believe that this well known style comes directly from the ancient Chinese dragon. This technique focuses on grappling and throwing through the use of an open hand technique. Fingers can also be used in this style. This style is fast and unpredictable, which makes it almost impossible to protect against.

The Leopard Claw A half open fist is featured in this style. In this style the fingers are folded to the palm of the hand and the ridge of the hand is the preferred striking method, although the palm can also be used as a secondary method. A stylist with proper technique and power can use this technique with deadly results.

The Tiger Claw Tearing and grabbling are the focus of this open handed technique. This is the most well known form of Kung Fu. In this style the fingernails are dug into your opponents skin so that the flesh can be torn right off. This is one of the most powerful and lethal forms in the martial arts.

The Snake Head In this style an open handed technique is used with the fingers fully extended and held together tight. The softest and most vulnerable parts of the opponent are attacked with the hard surface of the fingertips. Both hands need to be used simultaneously for this method to be effective.

The Crane Beak A striking surface at the base of the stylists fingertips is formed when their fingers are pressed firmly together. The attacks using this technique are usually delivered to the most vulnerable parts of the body, even though fingers can be conditioned for great strength.

These five styles of Kung Fu are very deadly and popular. The people who are skilled in these techniques are capable of defending themselves against almost any attacker.
